South Petherton Art Society Paintings Exhibition
From Friday 23rd to Monday 26th May 2008
The Art Section of the Combined Arts Group will be presenting their annual Painting Exhibition at the Blake Hall, Market Square, South Petherton.
The Preview Evening is being held at 7pm on Thursday 22nd Tickets available from Publicity Secretary (01460 249 107) and N&D News, St James St. The cost is £3 to include a glass of wine and delicious finger buffet. From past experience, a most enjoyable evening! This exhibition displaying and selling the work of talented local artists is opened to the public, admission free, 10am to 5pm from Friday to Monday inclusive.
Barcroft Hall Awareness Day 2008
On Sunday, June 15th. 2008 10:30 to 17:00 Barcroft Hall, North Street, South Petherton, TA13 5DA. Is holding an ‘Awareness Day’ covering Environmental, Climatic, Mobility and Organic Awareness.
The event will be opened by Annie Maw, High Sheriff of Somerset for 2008.

Fund Raising Golf Day 15th June
Orchard Lane Dental Practice would like to invite you to our Golf Day
to be held at the Wind Whistle Golf Course, Cricket St Thomas, Chard,
Somerset on Sunday 15th June 2008. Our aim for the day will be to raise
funds to support the Akamba Aid Fund.
The Akamba Aid Fund was established in 1999 and since then has been raising
money to help people in Akamba in the district of Mwingi, Kenya. Dr James
Buckle of South Petherton Doctors Surgery and local residents of South
Petherton and surrounding villages have taken a special interest in this
charity and are trying to raise money to provide a new ambulance and
aid for the people of Mwingi. Orchard Lane Dental Practice is keen to
support them in this and would be delighted of you would join us by attending
our Golf Day.

HOSPITAL NEWS
You may have seen on T.V, read in the newspapers, heard on the radio or by word of mouth, but in case you haven't heard,SOUTH PETHERTON COMMUNITY HOSPITAL will be built.
The Somerset Primary Care Trust has secured £17.5M of government funding
and the final approval of N.H.S South West, the regions Strategic Health
Authority.
Building will commence next year and the hospital will open in 2010.

SOUTH PETHERTON PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS
As the first Monday of May is public holiday, South Petherton Parish Council will meet at 7.45pm on Tuesday 6 May at the William Blake Memorial Hall
The July South Petherton Parish Council meeting has been brought forward by one week to 7pm on Monday 30 June at the William Blake Memorial Hall
